Last weekend, we were lucky enough to have a very special item on our menu. A ‘Chicken of the Woods’ mushroom Korma Curry. Oliver Gladwin had foraged an array of this mushroom just days before, and came to Sussex on Friday morning to cook up a large batch of the curry.
This mushroom got its name because it tastes so remarkably like chicken, this isn’t our attempt at a vegan meat, it really does taste like and have the texture of chicken. So much so, that customers couldn’t believe that what they were eating wasn’t chicken.
It was an incredibly exciting offering to have on the menu, and it flew out of the kitchen fast. Keep your eyes open for other foraged delights at our lovely restaurant in Battersea.
